Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in the Civil Engineering / Construction Industry.
  • Exposure to both site operations and office-based estimating environment highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with construction contract frameworks (FIDIC / GCC / JBCC).

  • Support the preparation of accurate cost estimates, tender submissions, and pricing schedules.

Description

Our client a reputable civil engineering and construction contractor is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Junior Estimator to join their dynamic estimating team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to develop core estimating competencies within a fast-paced infrastructure construction environment.

As Junior Estimator you will support the preparation of accurate cost estimates, tender submissions and pricing schedules across a diverse range of civil engineering works. Working closely with senior estimators and project directors you’ll play a key role in ensuring competitive, compliant and well-structured bids that align with client specifications and industry standards.

Requirements
  • Degree or Bachelor of Technology (Minimum NQF Level 7) in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying
  • 2-5 years of experience in the Civil Engineering / Construction Industry
  • Exposure to both site operations and office-based estimating environment highly advantageous
  • Understanding of construction methodologies and processes
  • Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices
  • Familiarity with construction contract frameworks (FIDIC / GCC / JBCC)
  • Understanding of roads earthworks structures and pipeline construction
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced level)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project software
  • Competent in reading and interpreting civil engineering drawings
  • CCS Candy experience in estimating and post-tender cost control (Training will be provided for suitable candidates without CCS Candy experience)
