Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Junior Electrical Engineer for its Port Elizabeth-based infrastructure projects division. The role targets recent graduates or early-career engineers to design, develop, and execute significant infrastructure works under senior guidance.

The position offers hybrid work with in-office mentorship and potential site-related tasks, providing hands-on experience across power distribution, telecommunications, and related infrastructure.

Qualifications

• B.Eng or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• 0-3 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, preferably with exposure to infrastructure.
• Basic understanding of electrical principles and systems.
• Familiarity with CAD software is an advantage.
• Strong desire to learn and develop technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in the design and planning of electrical infrastructure projects.
• Prepare technical documentation, including drawings, reports, and specifications.
• Conduct site visits for inspections, data collection, and progress monitoring.
• Support the testing and commissioning of electrical systems.
• Participate in project meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Learn and apply relevant electrical engineering codes and standards.
