We're looking for a talented, detail-oriented Junior Designer based in South Africa to join our creative team as a remote independent contractor and help bring compelling marketing campaigns to life.

About the Role

About the RoleAs a Junior Designer, you'll work across a diverse range of creative projects, from social media content and digital advertising to landing pages, motion graphics, email campaigns, and print materials. You'll collaborate closely with our U.S.-based creative team to develop concepts and transform briefs, brand guidelines, and campaign strategies into polished, production-ready assets. This is an excellent opportunity for a designer who thrives in a fast-paced agency environment, enjoys variety, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work with creativity, speed, accuracy, and attention to detail. This is a remote, independent contractor opportunity with a U.S.-based team operating primarily on Eastern Time (ET).

Contractors have flexibility in organizing their own working schedules and are expected to maintain sufficient overlap with U.S. Eastern Time business hours for effective communication, collaboration, and scheduled meetings.

Specific availability and project deadlines will be mutually agreed upon based on team and project requirements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional design experience, ideally within an agency or high-volume marketing environment.

Required Skills

• A strong portfolio showcasing digital design, web design, and motion graphics.
• Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and After Effects.
• Strong understanding of typography, composition, layout, visual hierarchy, and brand consistency.
• Knowledge of digital and print production requirements.
• Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent English communication and collaboration skills.
• A proactive, adaptable mindset with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a U.S.-based team during U.S.-Eastern Time business hours.

Preferred Skills

• Advanced web design and landing page design skills.
• Strong motion graphics, animation, or video editing capabilities.
• Experience using Canva.

Pay range and compensation package

• Monthly Contractor Compensation: $3,000–$3,500 USD, depending on experience and qualifications.
• Remote Opportunity: Work remotely from anywhere in South Africa.
