Strategic Legal Practices is looking for a motivated Junior Data Engineer who is eager to learn, grow, and be mentored by experienced engineers. In this role, you’ll contribute to building scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions that power decision-making across a high-impact litigation firm.

What You’ll Do
- Work closely with senior data engineers to design, build, and maintain data pipelines and analytic solutions.
- Learn to gather requirements and translate them into trusted, extensible data models.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to understand how data can drive impact across the organization.
- Support self-service analytics by preparing clean, well-modeled data for analysts and business users.
- Monitor and improve data quality and availability under the guidance of senior team members.
- Assist with diagnosing and resolving issues in development, staging, and production environments.
- Contribute to existing codebases (e.g., Python, SQL) and learn best practices for scalable, maintainable engineering.
What We’re Looking For
- 1–2 years of experience in an analytics-focused role (or strong academic/projects background in data engineering, computer science, or related fields).
- Familiarity with SQL and basic programming (Python or similar).
- Excited to learn modern data tools (dbt, Redshift, Looker/Tableau, etc.) with guidance.
- Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and eagerness to grow in a collaborative environment.
- A proactive mindset: you’re willing to try, learn, and iterate—even if things aren’t perfect at first.
Bonus
- Exposure to Palantir Foundry or interest in learning it.
- Experience with academic or project work involving AI, data modeling, or analytics pipelines.
- Understanding of (or curiosity about) generative AI, vector databases, or automation opportunities using data.
