Position: Junior Credit Analyst – Officer: Branch Credit

Location: Centurion, South Africa

Key Responsibilities
  • Credit Proposal Preparation
    • Conduct needs analysis, ITC and CIPC vetting, financial analysis, affordability calculations, and industry analysis.
    • Perform qualitative and quantitative research.
    • Ensure all client information is accurate and up to date.
    • Communicate with clients regarding queries or clarifications.
    • Draft detailed write-ups to motivate requests and submit for approval.
  • Credit Query Management & Administration
    • Process and maintain credit files and branch memos, including follow-ups for company financials.
    • Manage supporting documentation such as rate clearance certificates, valuation reports, and financial ratings.
    • Respond to queries related to the credit department.
    • Monitor clients in excess of limits or with overdue accounts and ensure approvals/notifications are in place.
    • Ensure compliance with all conditions: insurance policies current, valuations up to date, rate statements accurate, security documents complete and all special conditions met.
    • Manage issuance of guarantees, bank audit confirmations, negotiations, and client queries.
    • Ensure proper record-keeping in line with the bank’s policies.
    • Undertake specific ad-hoc projects/assignments as directed by line manager.
Qualifications, Experience & Attributes
  • Relevant bachelor’s degree (e.g., BCom, BCom Honours in Banking).
  • Minimum 5 years’ banking experience, with specialization in credit.
  • Strong financial analysis and credit assessment skills.
  • Proven ability to complete activities accurately, within deadlines, and in compliance with internal processes and procedures.
  • Excellent relationship-building and client communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
