Job summary

A leading engineering firm in South Africa is seeking a Control Systems Design Engineer to design and commission automation systems for industrial applications. The successful candidate will have a degree in engineering and experience in control systems design, PLC programming, and HMI/SCADA integration. The role involves producing schematics, performing system testing, and collaborating with engineers for project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
• Experience in control systems design, automation, or industrial engineering.
• Strong knowledge of PLC programming (Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio, etc.).
• Experience with HMI/SCADA design and integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement control system architectures for industrial automation projects.
• Produce detailed electrical and control system schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Perform system integration, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and site commissioning.
