Our investment client in Claremont is looking for a Junior Compliance Officer with 1-2 years of experience from a financial services or investment company.

You will provide support to the Compliance Department in ensuring that the company meets all regulatory, legal, and internal policy requirements.

The role will focus on assisting with compliance monitoring, drafting legal documentation, supporting due diligence processes, and liaising with internal stakeholders to maintain the organization’s strong compliance culture.

Requirements

  • Minimum: Relevant diploma or certificate in law, finance, compliance, or related field (a degree is advantageous but not essential).
  • 1–2 years’ experience in a compliance, legal, or financial services environment preferred
  • Basic knowledge of South African regulatory frameworks (e.g., FICA, POPIA, NCA).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance & Monitoring
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining compliance frameworks in line with FICA, POPIA, and other applicable legislation.
  • Draft and review basic legal and compliance-related documents under supervision.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and maintenance of compliance documentation.
  • Assist in compiling reports for management and regulatory bodies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Liaise with the sales and operational teams to ensure compliance requirements are met during deal structuring and execution.
