About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Civil Engineer to join their growing team in Tembisa, Gauteng. This role is ideal for an ambitious graduate or early-career professional looking to gain hands-on experience in site development, infrastructure planning, and project coordination. You will be involved in various stages of civil engineering projects, working under the guidance of senior engineers. This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing for a balance between on-site engagement and remote work flexibility. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for site development projects.
• Conduct site investigations and data collection to inform design decisions.
• Support senior engineers in project planning, scheduling, and cost estimation.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
• Prepare progress reports, documentation, and permit applications.
• Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and local authorities.
• Perform quantity take-offs and assist in tender documentation.
• Help resolve on-site technical issues as they arise, under supervision.
• Gain exposure to various aspects of civil engineering, including stormwater management, road design, and earthworks.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites within the Gauteng region.
• Basic understanding of civil engineering principles, particularly in site development and infrastructure.
• Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) for drawing preparation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Eagerness to learn and develop professional skills in a supportive environment.
• Knowledge of relevant South African engineering standards and regulations is advantageous.
