Placements24 is seeking a motivated Junior Chemical Process Engineer to join our Paarl team. This early-career role offers exposure to design, operation, and optimization of chemical processes, under the guidance of senior engineers.

You will assist with analyses, process improvements, and project execution, developing core chemical engineering skills in a supportive environment with mentorship and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 0-2 years of experience in the chemical industry or internships.
• Familiarity with process simulation software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of chemical process equipment and systems.
• Support process simulation and modeling activities.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, including P&IDs and operating manuals.
• Participate in process hazard analyses and safety reviews.
• Monitor plant performance data and contribute to troubleshooting efforts.
• Assist with the commissioning and start-up of new or modified process units.
