Placements24 is recruiting a Junior Chemical Engineer for its Richards Bay operations. The successful candidate will support senior engineers in design, development, and optimization of chemical processes, contributing to safety and efficiency in a dynamic industrial setting.

This role invites recent graduates or early-career engineers to gain hands-on experience, with mentorship and exposure to multiple process technologies in a growing industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Zero to three years of relevant internship or co-op experience in a chemical process environment.
• Solid understanding of fundamental chemical engineering concepts.
• Familiarity with process simulation tools is a plus.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and modification of chemical process equipment and systems.
• Support process troubleshooting and provide technical assistance to plant operations personnel.
• Conduct routine process monitoring, data collection, and performance analysis.
• Participate in safety reviews and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
• Assist in the development of process documentation, including operating procedures and P&IDs.
• Collaborate with R&D on pilot plant trials and scale-up activities.
