Junior Bookkeeper position available in Edenvale.

This foundational position in our financial department requires a detail-oriented Junior Bookkeeper to support the administrative and transactional accounting functions of our specialized manufacturing and supply operations.

The role is critical for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, which underpins our ability to manage cash flow and sustain the operational agility characteristic of our organization.

Salary: R10,000 – R18,000 per month (Negotiable based on experience).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and timely records of all financial transactions, including general ledgers, journals, and subsidiary books.
  • Manage the Accounts Payable (AP) function, ensuring accurate coding and timely settlement of supplier accounts to support continuous raw material supply.
  • Process and manage the Accounts Receivable (AR) function, including invoicing, statement dispatch, and necessary follow-up for collections.
  • Assist with the preparation of weekly and monthly payroll information and related statutory submissions (e.g., VAT, PAYE).
  • Execute timely and accurate monthly bank, creditor, and debtor reconciliations.
  • Support the preparation of internal financial reports and documentation for external auditors and the senior financial team.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in a junior or similar bookkeeping role within a commercial or manufacturing setting.
  • Comprehensive understanding of basic accounting principles (Debits/Credits) and financial compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in common accounting software (e.g., Pastel, Sage, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills necessary for managing the complex finances of a dynamic manufacturing environment.
