Job summary

ALSTOM Gruppe in Gauteng, South Africa, seeks a Jnr APSYS Specialist to drive and coordinate APSYS deployment and continuous improvement initiatives. You will coordinate actions to meet APSYS targets, train teams, and develop best practices to share with the steering committee.

You will work with site HODs on strategic transformation, facilitate Kaizen events, and report deployment progress to the Site APSYS Leader. Strong lean and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Master lean principles (5S, Standard, Gemba, VSM, problem solving, kaizen mindset).
  • Degree in technical/engineering field.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing is required.
  • In-depth APSYS knowledge is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate APSYS deployment with site leaders to achieve SQCD objectives.
  • Train staff on APSYS tools and continuous improvement concepts.
  • Set up APSYS visual management boards and KPIs, track progress.
  • Support departments with field expertise on lean and CI methods.
  • Consolidate deployment status reports for the Site APSYS Leader.
  • Conduct APSYS assessments at other sites and support weeks.

Purpose of the Job

The Jnr APSYS Specialist will drive and coordinate To Coordinate and Standardize APSYS & continuous improvement initiatives. APSYS Deployment - Animate, coordinate and challenge improvement actions to reach APSYS targets, APSYS toolbox to deliver operational performance & develop local best practices that will be share with the steering committee.

Organisational Reporting
  • This position shall report hierarchical and functionally to the APSYS Lead.
Responsibilities
APSYS Deployment
  • Work with Function HOD’s on strategic transformation using site SQCD objectives and APSYS roadmap.
  • Train people on APSYS program, methodologies and tools in his site / project.
  • Training & setup of APSYS Visual management boards & KPIs + Audit progress
  • Support each department in APSYS deployment by providing on field expertise on lean & continuous improvement tools
  • Facilitate and coordinate all improvement actions to reach APSYS targets defined with each métier based on APSYS roadmaps
  • Consolidate and report deployment status to Site APSYS Leader
APSYS assessment
  • Is responsible of self-assessment consolidation and APSYS assessment week / support mission’s preparation (logistics / accommodation, agenda, people availability …)
  • Perform APSYS assessments in other sites / projects
APSYS Network
  • Participate to APSYS events (webinars, APSYS award…)
  • Contribute as trainer to Site training program deployment (eg: AIM for PT & AT, 5’s, VSM, SWIP etc)
  • Share good practices & benchmarks (internal / external) within APSYS network)
  • Launch, lead and support functions with the Kaizen & Creaction digital program
  • Coordinate, manage & participate to Kaizen & Creaction events (Quarterly Creaction & Annual KAIZEN events, ASCEA (Africa Supply Chain Excellence Awards) program participation, APSYS award…)
  • Manage CI OPEX workshops on the shop floor and warehouse/ logistics areas
  • Data analysis and report structuring to support CI projects
Performance measurements
  • Successful Lean impact on the métier
  • Progress from Y-1 to Y on APSYS maturity
  • Site KPI improvement
