3Sixty Life Limited wishes to appoint a Junior Actuarial Data Analyst to support the actuarial and finance functions, focusing on policy administration system (PAS) data.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency during the migration from a legacy policy administration system to a new platform.
The role involves collaborating with outsourced actuarial and data teams, namely the external actuarial services company responsible for valuations, solvency reporting, and other actuarial deliverables, and the data manipulation service provider.
Data Management and Migration Support :
Assist in the extraction, transformation, and validation of policy data from the legacy system to the new policy administration system.
Perform reconciliations and data quality checks to ensure accuracy and integrity of migrated data.
Support the actuarial team in testing and validating actuarial data feeds from the new system.
Document data mappings, assumptions, and validation outcomes for audit and control purposes.
Actuarial Data Preparation and Liaison :
Prepare and review data extracts required for actuarial valuations, experience analyses, and solvency reporting.
Act as the key actuarial data liaison with the external data manipulation company to ensure timely and accurate data processing.
Act as the liaison with the external actuarial services firm to supply, validate, and reconcile datasets used in statutory and regulatory reporting.
Support actuarial input into data governance, including data definitions, control processes, and change documentation.
Analysis and Reporting :
Conduct basic actuarial data analyses (policy movement, premium and claims trends, lapse experience) to support management and reporting needs.
Identify data anomalies and trends and assist in investigating and resolving discrepancies.
Contribute to the production of management information (MI) reports and assist with regulatory submissions as needed.
Collaboration and Continuous Improvement :
Work closely with IT, operations, and actuarial teams to enhance data processes and ensure seamless integration across systems.
Contribute to process documentation and improvement initiatives related to data handling, validation, and actuarial reporting.
Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) for system upgrades and data interfaces relevant to actuarial outputs.
Provide support during audit and review processes, including responding to queries from external auditors.
Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, data science, or a related quantitative field.
Progress toward actuarial exams with a recognized actuarial body (e.g., ASSA, IFoA) will be advantageous.
0–2 years of experience in an actuarial, data, or insurance analytics role (life insurance experience preferred).
Exposure to policy administration systems, actuarial data structures, or data migration projects will be an advantage.
Ethical awareness and confidentiality, especially when handling sensitive policyholder data.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills to question data anomalies and understand business implications.
Mathematical and statistical proficiency.
Good understanding of data validation, reconciliation, and reporting processes.
Expert proficiency in Excel.
Experience with SQL, R, Python, or SAS is an advantage.
Knowledge and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for MI reporting and trend analysis is an advantage.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to interpret and communicate technical data findings to non-technical stakeholders.
Understanding of the Prudential Authority's role and the implications of curatorship on actuarial reporting.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly for external liaison and collaborative work.
Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow in both actuarial and data domains.
