We are currently looking for a Junior Accountant to join our team. This is an ideal opportunity for professionals who wish to continue working from South Africa while gaining exposure to international clients and engaging in challenging projects. While the role is primarily remote, occasional in-person meetings with the team will be required.

Role Overview:

The Junior Accountant will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, ensuring the accurate and timely compilation of financial statements, tax calculations, and overseeing related audit tasks. The role will involve working with a variety of Europe-based clients, offering both technical challenge and the opportunity to build valuable international experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Compile Financial Statements: Prepare accurate and comprehensive financial statements in accordance with IFRS or IFRS for SMEs, ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards.
• Tax Calculations: Perform provisional and income tax calculations, ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
• External Audits: Lead and manage external audits for clients, ensuring all audit procedures are executed correctly and efficiently.
• Work Under Pressure: Manage multiple tasks efficiently, working to strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Client Communication: Maintain excellent communication with clients, providing updates on progress, addressing queries, and building strong relationships.

Academic Qualifications Required:

• Degree in Accounting (essential)
• Completed SAIPA articles (advantageous, but not required)

Experience Required:

• 1-3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on compilations and external audits.
• Microsoft Office, and CaseWare
• Experience with Sage and Xero
