Job Title: Junior Accountant

Location: Pretoria

We are seeking a dedicated and detail‑oriented Junior Accountant with a minimum of 5 years' experience in accounting functions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing creditors, debtors, VAT, financials, and cash flow, with hands‑on experience in Xero accounting software. A strong ability to work independently and manage general administrative tasks is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Creditors & Debtors Management: Process, reconcile and manage accounts payable and receivable. Ensure timely payment of invoices and collections.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Support the senior team in compiling accurate financial records.
  • VAT & Compliance: Prepare and submit VAT returns. Ensure all tax filings and financial activities comply with statutory regulations.
  • Costing & Budgeting: Support in preparing and reviewing costing models and budgets. Monitor actual spending vs. budget and report variances.
  • Cash Flow Management: Track daily cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity. Assist in forecasting future cash requirements.
  • Stock Take: Participate in periodic stock takes and reconciliation. Maintain accurate stock records.
  • Payroll & Payee Management: Assist in payroll processing and managing payee records.
  • Use of Xero Accounting Software: Daily usage of Xero for transaction recording, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • General Administration: Perform general administrative duties related to finance and accounts. Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Certifications (Preferred): SAIPA, SAICA, or equivalent professional certification.
Experience

Minimum of 5 years' relevant accounting experience.
