Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years in a similar accounting role.

Responsibilities

  • Perform bank account reconciliations and cashbook administration.
  • Process and administer sundry sales transactions.
  • Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Compile and calculate income tax schedules.
  • Administer and submit VAT, PAYE, and Income Tax returns and reconciliations to SARS.
  • Reconcile salaries and wages and process monthly payroll payments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records.
  • Monitor financial performance and analyze budget and forecast variances.
  • Process and reconcile inter-company transactions.
  • Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register with the general ledger.

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Junior Accountant to join their Finance Department.

This position reports directly to the Financial Manager and plays a key role in supporting the company's financial operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform bank account reconciliations and cashbook administration
  • Process and administer sundry sales transactions
  • Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations and journal entries
  • Compile and calculate income tax schedules
  • Administer and submit VAT, PAYE, and Income Tax returns and reconciliations to SARS
  • Reconcile salaries and wages and process monthly payroll payments
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records
  • Monitor financial performance and analyse budget and forecast variances
  • Process and reconcile inter-company transactions
  • Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register with the general ledger
Minimum Requirements
Education
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related Finance field
