Role Description

This is a permanent role for a Junior Accountant, based in Kempton Park.

The Junior Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, processing invoices, preparing pay runs, creating invoices, and assisting with budget preparations.

Daily tasks will include:

  • Capture and process supplier invoices for payment (checking VAT compliance and SARS invoice requirements).
  • Reconcile supplier statements with the ledger and prepare payment batches.
  • Verify supporting documents (purchase orders, delivery notes, tax invoices) before releasing payments.
  • Update and maintain the creditors' ledger daily.
  • Capture daily bank transactions (EFTs, debit orders, direct deposits).
  • Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cashbook balances.
  • Capture PAYE / SDL / UIF deductions for payroll submissions (EMP).
