Overview

Wildlife based industry NPO is looking for an experienced full‑time Journalist who excels in marketing, communication, and photography or Video editing to elevate our brand presence. All applicants must be willing to relocate to Pretoria as our offices are based in Pretoria.

Applicant must be a team player, with excellent communication and planning skills to perform tasks unsupervised. Applicant must be willing to travel from time to time to perform tasks and engage on various national forums and events.

Responsibilities
  • Content creation: Producing original, creative, and authentic content that aligns with our brand's voice and message.
  • Marketing & communication: Informative articles, news, newsletters, blogs and WhatsApp communication is a key task to be performed on a daily basis.
  • Website management: Performing regular updates, SEO optimisation, and enhancing user experience to improve overall site performance.
  • Social media management: Implementing strategic plans on Facebook and Instagram to boost brand awareness, scheduling, posting, analysing metrics, and engaging with our online community.
  • Primary goal: Significantly enhance our brand visibility to a broader audience.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Journalism and content creation: Producing original, creative, and authentic content. Generating engaging written and visual materials. Writing informative articles, news, newsletters, blogs, and WhatsApp communication.
  • Marketing and communication: Developing strategic marketing plans. Enhancing brand visibility and presence. Communicating key messages to diverse stakeholders.
  • Photography and video editing: Strong photography skills. Proficiency in video editing.
  • Website management: Performing regular updates. SEO optimisation. Enhancing user experience.
  • Social media management: Implementing strategic plans on Facebook and Instagram. Scheduling and posting content. Analysing social media metrics. Engaging with the online community.
  • Teamwork and planning: Excellent communication and planning skills. Ability to perform tasks unsupervised. Team player.
  • Travel and event participation: Willingness to travel for tasks. Engagement in various national forums and events.

South Africa is renowned for its unique conservation success story which is attributed to the phenomenal role wildlife ranchers have played in securing essential wildlife habitat, through the rewilding and protection of species and biodiversity. WRSA and its members play an integral role in the wildlife economy and advocate for the responsible and sustainable use of renewable natural resources.

The expansion of wildlife habitat, conservation of species and protection of biodiversity outside of protected areas, is our game.
