About the Role

We are seeking a highly capable Jnr Warehouse Assistant to join a leading food & beverage manufacturing team based in JHB South.

Role Overview

This role is integral to coordinating inbound logistics and warehousing activities, supporting the Warehouse Manager in maintaining efficient operations, inventory control, and compliance within a strictly food-grade production environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate all inbound warehouse operations in line with company and client expectations.
  • Manage space planning and resource allocation to optimize warehouse efficiency.
  • Support the Warehouse Manager in planning and monitoring the movement of goods.
  • Maintain accurate systems for tracking receipt and dispatch of goods.
  • Ensure regular stock rotation and conduct scheduled stock audits.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to manage inventory levels and ensure product availability.
  • Liaise with customers regarding the status of incoming goods.
  • Ensure strict adherence to warehouse standards, including inspections, PPE compliance, training, and records.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance to meet hygiene and food safety protocols.
  • Generate monthly reports on inventory trends, forecasts, and budget projections.
  • Supervise efficient pallet and returnable equipment management.
Candidate Requirements
  • Matric (Grade 12) Diploma / Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in warehousing within a manufacturing plant environment (preferably food, detergents, or commodities)
  • Experience with SAGE Evolution ERP system
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and manage complex team dynamics
  • Exposure to companies like Clover, Tiger Brands, Nestlé, AVI, Pioneer Foods, Reckitt, Johnsons, etc. is highly advantageous
