About the Company

Fresh Solutions Western Cape is a leading supplier of premium fresh produce to the hospitality, retail, and export markets.

With a strong farm-to-table philosophy, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, hand-selected fruit and vegetables daily — ensuring freshness, consistency, and service excellence across every order.

Our team is built on values of integrity, teamwork, and accountability, with a shared commitment to innovation and growth in the fresh produce industry.

At Fresh Solutions, we don't just supply produce — we deliver freshness that fuels South Africa's hospitality and food industry.

About the role

We're looking for a detail-driven and people-focused HR professional to support our growing operational teams.

This role plays a key part in maintaining a fair, respectful, and healthy workplace culture — handling employee relations, monitoring misconduct and conflict trends, supporting disciplinary processes, and assisting managers with people-focused initiatives.

You’ll be the bridge between HR, operations, and our people — ensuring that policies are followed, wellbeing is supported, and communication stays transparent across all levels of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Industrial Relations Administration

  • Prepare disciplinary documents and record all misconduct cases accurately
  • Attend hearings / signings for documentation purposes
  • Track repeat offences and elevate risks to the HR Manager
  • Maintain disciplinary and incident logs for legal compliance

Time & Attendance Support

  • Assist with ERS updates and attendance reporting for payroll
  • Track absenteeism and time-keeping issues across departments

Conflict Monitoring & Early Intervention Support

  • Conduct regular floor walks to identify unhealthy behaviours early
  • Act as a neutral listener for informal staff concerns
  • Report conflict trends and productivity risks to HR
  • Recommend early corrective actions to departmental leaders

Staff Wellbeing & Culture

  • Identify personal / work pressures affecting performance
  • Refer employees to appropriate support resources
  • Flag morale risks and suggest improvements
  • Maintain development records linked to staff growth

Culture-Building Assistance

  • Support onboarding, recognition and engagement initiatives
  • Help gather employee feedback (surveys / focus groups)
  • Maintain accurate training and performance documentation

Operational Development Support

  • Assist HR and Operations when new departments / functions expand
  • Ensure HR documentation and compliance records are created and updated
  • Support foundation work for performance reviews aligning to operational standards
  • Monitor SOP / policy adherence and elevate non-compliance
Requirements
  • National Diploma or Certificate in Human Resource Management (NQF Level 5 or 6)
  • Qualification in HR Administration from a SETA-accredited training provider
  • Qualification in Labour Relations Practice or equivalent
  • Short course or module in Labour Law, Disciplinary Procedures, Conflict Management, Mediation, or Employee Wellness
  • Experience in Sage People and ERS Time & Attendance systems (crucial)
  • Exposure to OHS awareness and compliance in a workplace environment
What we are looking for

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, discreet, and confident in handling sensitive employee matters with fairness and empathy.

You should be comfortable moving between office and floor environments, supporting both HR and operational teams, and ensuring that our people processes run smoothly, compliantly, and with heart.
