OverviewA fast-growing specialist business consulting firm focused on developing investor-ready business plans and financial strategies for growth-stage companies is seeking a Junior Financial Manager to join them in Centurion.

If you are ready to step into the corporate world this may be the position you've been waiting for. Initially your responsibilities will include core accounting functions, but the position can develop into a more focused financial leadership role. The key to succeeding in this role will be a strong grasp of accounting principles (preferably related to the finance and loan industry), leadership capability and the ability to take initiative.

Responsibilities
  • Financial reporting: Monthly compilation and control of financial information regarding the company's operating activities (income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements).
  • Short-term financial planning: ongoing management and updating of the annual operating projections and monitoring monthly budget performance against actuals.
  • Long-term financial planning: assist with the annual control and updating of the long-term financial strategy.
  • Budgets: assist with the preparation and consolidation of annual budgets.
  • Capital management: maintain fixed asset register and manage annual capital expenditure needs in line with cash availability.
  • Treasury Management: daily monitoring of bank balances to ensure cash is available to meet obligations.
  • Taxation: accurate accounting of VAT.
  • Internal Audit and Risk Management: support process improvements, ensure compliance with internal controls, and provide training to internal stakeholders.
  • External Audit: coordinate with auditors, manage audit points, and implement corrective actions.
  • Revenue Management: report occupancy to the resorts management team and contribute to revenue-goal actions.
  • Management and development of the financial staff as appointed.
  • Accounting Duties: monthly/daily billing to customers; capture and maintenance of all accounting records on Pastel; provide monthly statements to customers; preparation and issuing of semi-annual tax reconciliations; ensure valid Tax Clearance Certificates at all times; ensure valid BEE Certificates at all times and manage BEE compliance audits; ensure statutory compliance for all entities (e.g., Letter of Good Standing, update vendor registrations, CIPC annual returns, etc.); submit VAT, PAYE, IT, Dividend Tax, and PTax returns via e‑filing and complete IRP5s and EMP recons on Easyfile; submit salary and supplier payments on the online banking system for director authorization.
Desired Requirements, Experience & Qualifications

CA (SA) or Qualified Professional Accountant (CPA). At least 1 year post-articles experience, preferably in a financial services (finance and loan) environment. Strong leadership and communication skills. High attention to detail and strong organisational skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. The salary bracket for the role is around R35k - R45k CTC per month (negotiable). The offer will be market related, aligned with qualifications, skills and level of experience.
