Job summary

Sabenza IT & Recruitment in Johannesburg, South Africa is seeking an Intermediate Java Developer to join a dynamic professional services environment. You will work on enterprise-scale software development, integration and support across a broad tech stack including Java/J2EE, Spring, Apache Camel, and REST APIs.

You’ll design, implement and maintain robust software, integrate with Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL and PostgreSQL databases, and build integrations using RabbitMQ/ActiveMQ.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Java development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Spring Framework.
• Experience with Apache Camel.
• Solid SQL and relational database experience.
• REST API and systems integration experience.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Git for version control.
• Linux and Bash scripting.
• Familiarity with Postman or API testing tools.
• Agile/Scrum experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Java software solutions in an enterprise environment.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs and enterprise systems.
• Work with relational databases (Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Write complex SQL queries and optimise performance.
• Build and support integrations using messaging systems like RabbitMQ/ActiveMQ.
• Deploy and configure applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate using Git in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Test, troubleshoot and debug applications and integrations.
• Participate in integration testing, FAT, UAT and system testing.
• Provide technical documentation and peer reviews.
