Position Description

We're looking for a Project Manager to be part of our IT division to be responsible for delivery of Project Management services across the TSS and Infrastructure departments, within the Head Office and Stores environments.

Key Performance Areas
  • Maintaining a strategic view over the programme, by establishing the right governance approach to achieve the desired outcomes of the programme. Ensuring clear communication and adoption by both the direct project teams, as well as the broader stakeholder groups across the organisation (internal & external)
  • The identification, planning, direction and coordination of activities to manage and implement a complex a programme of business change. This requires the ability to lead and influence across the broader TFG Group
  • Management of cross-functional and cross-business interdependencies in support of specific programme strategies and objectives, and alignment with business and organisation strategies and objectives
  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting, ensuring that projects are delivered within scope, budget and on time. Overall management of project deliverables, ensuring right-sized governance and standards are adhered to. Continuous and proactive management of risks (business, technical & commercial), ensuring mitigation plans are in place and agreed (management reporting and metrics)
  • Responsible for accurate cost management, monthly variance management and monitoring of budgets (R250k - R25m) and operational costs (if applicable), supported by comprehensive reporting.
  • Resource Management - identification of and negotiation for resources required, both internal and external. Management (and selection) of external services as required. Proactive management of capacity and capability shortfalls to ensure that resources and structures are correctly aligned to meet both strategic and operational objectives
  • Maintaining positive relationships with vendors and external partners, in accordance with Group values
  • Responsible for the Transfer to Operations by the establishment of a Change Team to ensure execution and adoption of our people change management framework across all stakeholder groups across the broader TFG. Resource and guide the Change Team appropriately to ensure minimal disruption and smooth transition of change into the business
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary education
  • Project Management certification
  • 8 to 10 years of IT Infrastructure-related project management experience
  • 5+ years relevant experience managing large, complex projects
  • 5+ years relevant experience in managing complex cross-functional teams often involving external suppliers
  • Must have in-depth understanding of network infrastructure and IT hardware
Desirable
  • Prince 2 Certification
  • Broad experience and knowledge of the retail industry
  • IT management / support in a retail environment
