IT Technical Manager, Cloud Technologies
Responsibilities
- Cloud technologies: deep experience with Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, hybrid integration) and Microsoft 365 (identity, collaboration, security).
- Endpoint security / EDR: experience working with SentinelOne (deployment, configuration, monitoring, incident response).
- Remote Monitoring & Management (RMM) platforms: working with Nable Ncentral (or equivalent), including agent deployment, patching, automation, SLA management.
- Networking & infrastructure: strong skills in LAN / WAN, routing / switching, firewall technologies, VPNs, network optimisation, hybrid connectivity (on-premises ↔ cloud).
- Scripting & automation: PowerShell proficiency (writing scripts for automation, configuration management, monitoring, reporting). Possibly also other scripting (e.g., Azure CLI, REST APIs).
- Systems integration: experience integrating cloud, on-prem, security tools, identity management, logging / monitoring solutions.
- Team management: supervising technical engineers / administrators, delegating tasks, oversight of implementation, operations, support.
- Cyber-security operations: threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, security monitoring, toolsets, policies & governance.
- Service delivery & vendor / third-party management: working with service providers, vendors (for cloud, security, RMM), contract / SLA oversight.
- Documentation & governance: writing policies, runbooks, escalation procedures, change management, compliance frameworks.
Experience & Soft Skills
- 5-10 years of practical hands-on experience in cloud / integration / security and leadership
- Strong leadership and people-management skills: able to mentor, manage team performance, set goals, coordinate across functions.
- Excellent communication skills: explaining technical matters to non-technical stakeholders, producing reports, influencing decisions.
- Problem-solving mindset: ability to troubleshoot complex integration / security issues, think strategically.
- Proactive and innovative: automating tasks, improving processes (RMM, scripting), enhancing security posture, driving cost- / efficiency improvements.
- Adaptability: able to keep up with new technologies, security threats, evolving cloud architectures.
- Collaboration with stakeholders: internal (IT, operations, business units) and external (vendors, MSPs, partners).
- Project management skills: planning, execution of integration projects, security rollouts, migrations, upgrades.
Specific Role Responsibilities
- Oversee the cloud integration services team: assign tasks, manage daily operations, ensure service levels are met.
- Implement and operate endpoint protection (SentinelOne) and RMM (N-able N-central) platforms: deployment, monitoring, reporting, escalation.
- Ensure Azure / M365 environment is secure, optimised and aligned with business needs (identity, group policies, conditional access, licensing, governance).
- Enhance networking infrastructure: review existing LAN / WAN, hybrid connectivity, propose improvements, implement changes.
- Develop PowerShell scripts and automation to streamline operations (patching, onboarding / offboarding, provisioning, monitoring).
- Define and maintain security policies, incident response procedures, vulnerability scanning, logging & alerting frameworks.
- Liaise with business units and ensure cloud / integration services support strategic goals, manage budgets and vendor relationships.
- Provide regular status reports and dashboards to senior management on cloud usage, security posture, team performance, service metrics.
- Stay current on emerging cloud, security and RMM technologies and recommend adoption where it adds value.
Desired Experience / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related (or equivalent work experience).
- Certifications would be a plus : e.g., Microsoft Azure Administrator / Architect, Azure Security Engineer, SentinelOne certified, N-able / N-central, Cisco CCNA / CCNP for networking, PowerShell scripting credentials.
- 7+ years of IT experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership / managerial role.
- Proven track record in cloud integration projects, security operations, RMM deployment, scripting / automation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams and deliver technical services at scale.
