IT Procurement Manager

Locations: Johannesburg – Midrand | Cape Town – TygerValley

Our international client is looking for a detail‑orientated, process‑driven Procurement Manager to lead their Procurement team and ensure seamless financial and operational processes that directly support clients and internal teams. The Procurement Manager will oversee and manage a team of three people based in South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for timely and accurate customer service, cost efficiency, innovation, automation, processes, and reporting. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, and a confident communicator with clients, colleagues, and vendors.

Key functions
  • Client invoicing (regular ad hoc invoicing throughout the month in addition to management of the main monthly run)
  • Ad hoc procurement requests for clients, sourcing, quoting, purchasing
  • Vendor relationships including selection, onboarding, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
  • Onboarding and offboarding customers
  • Product catalogue and pricing maintenance, including standardisation and simplification
  • Logistics of shipments between vendors, clients and our offices
  • Defining, monitoring and reporting on Procurement KPIs
  • Management and maturing of procurement processes
  • Working with colleagues in other teams to leverage the existing toolset to streamline and automate procurement processes
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in procurement or vendor management
  • Experience within IT services or a similar sector
  • Previous team management or leadership experience.
  • Strong background in invoicing, procurement cycles and process management.
  • Experience working with international vendors and clients.
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organised approach.
  • Process-driven with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – polite, professional and able to assertively enforce processes when required.
  • Strong vendor negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
