Investec Sandton is looking for a candidate that will be responsible for fulfilling the role of an IT Business Analyst within the Capital Management team sitting within the CS Tech Risk division.

The role will involve focusing on business-as-usual deliverables and support for multiple global regions across Investec.

Key Responsibilities

Write and maintain business specifications.

Also produce functional documents, system configuration changes and consider best practice operational controls.

Participate in and drive technical design sessions with IT architects (when required) before compiling the functional specifications.

Design and manage the implementation of automated schedules in Control‑M with the respective team.

When applicable, create and document test scenarios for testing purposes.

Work with the Data Warehouse team to define and source new data requirements and maintain the team's data mapping specifications.

Work with the software vendor on implementing new business rule configurations and / or update existing configurations when required.

Participate in the full SDLC process but responsible for managing the entire delivery – from understanding the requirements, to documentation, managing the change with developers, testing of the change, logging the change control and review the changes post deployment.

Involved in general day-to-day production application support and operational requests from business – data and system specific queries and the resolution of them.

Manage stakeholder expectations and priorities effectively

Build and maintain strong communication with a range of stakeholders across other IT teams and Business Units.

Ability to multi‑task, prioritize, deliver to milestones, be flexible and adjust to change in priorities quickly.

Ability to deal with pressure and remain level headed.

Ability to manage stakeholder expectations regarding requirements.

Ability to write SQL queries to retrieve data from databases

Take ownership of tasks and projects assigned and follow issues or concerns through to delivery.

Demonstrate the ability to work well in a team with strong facilitation skills.

Ability to collaborate and facilitate attainment of the best possible solution for the situation.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

IT related / Commercial / Science degree

Use of Agile / Lean practices (user stories, backlog grooming, sprint ceremonies).

Familiarity with Azure / ADO / Confluence or equivalent BA tools.

Prior work experience with a basic level of SQL and data analysis.

Prior work experience or knowledge of financial market instruments is a must have.

5 + years working as a Systems / Technical Business Analyst in the Banking industry, specifically in the Capital Management team / Risk Management / Corporate and Investment Banking team would be advantageous.

Completed or in the process of completing an FRM, PRM or CFA certification would advantageous.

Basel regulatory knowledge (credit risk) would be advantageous.

Moodys Risk Authority application experience would be advantageous.
