Key Responsibilities

• Install, operate, maintain, and repair a variety of irrigation systems, including drip, sprinkler, and center pivot systems.
• Inspect irrigation infrastructure regularly to identify leaks, blockages, and other potential issues.
• Perform diagnostic tests on irrigation equipment to troubleshoot malfunctions and determine necessary repairs.
• Adjust and calibrate irrigation systems to ensure optimal water distribution and efficiency.
• Manage and maintain inventory of irrigation parts, tools, and equipment.
• Ensure all irrigation activities comply with water conservation regulations and best practices.
• Collaborate with agronomists and farm managers to develop and implement effective irrigation schedules.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics related to irrigation systems.
• Operate machinery and vehicles safely as required for irrigation tasks.
• Document all maintenance, repair, and installation activities.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Irrigation Technician or in a similar technical role within agriculture or horticulture.
• A technical qualification in mechanical engineering, plumbing, agricultural technology, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of different irrigation system types, components, and their maintenance requirements.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues related to irrigation equipment.

• Physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
