Qualifications

• Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Irrigation Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years designing, installing, maintaining irrigation systems.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, soil moisture and crop water needs.
• Proficient in irrigation design software.
• Willingness to travel within the Mahikeng region; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan efficient irrigation systems (drip, sprinkler, center pivot) based on farm layout, crop needs and water availability.
• Oversee installation and upgrades of irrigation systems.
• Inspect and maintain irrigation equipment for optimal performance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot pumps, controllers, and systems.
• Provide technical training to farmers on operation and best practices.
• Monitor water usage and system performance; adjust for efficiency.
• Calibrate and program irrigation controllers and sensors.
• Maintain records of installations, maintenance and performance data.
• Stay updated on new irrigation tech, water conservation methods and regulations.

• Proficiency with irrigation design software and tools.
• Experience with various irrigation system types and components.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse clients.
• Willingness to travel frequently within the Mahikeng region and perform site visits.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects effectively.
