Job summary

The Skills Mine is seeking an experienced iOS developer to join our client in the Digital Media and Telecoms sector in Cape Town. You will work on high-quality apps using Swift, Cocoa Touch, Xcode, and RESTful APIs.

Required: a BSc in CS or equivalent, a portfolio of work, strong knowledge of iOS frameworks (Core Data, CallKit, UserNotifications), push notifications, app extensions, Agile, Reactive programming, Firebase, encryption, media operations, and offline storage with threading and

• BSc in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Portfolio of work to demonstrate skill set.
• Proficiency with Swift (5+) and Cocoa Touch.
• Experience with Xcode & Git flow.
• Ability to write clean & testable code.
• Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
• Experience with iOS frameworks such as Core Data, CallKit, UserNotifications, etc.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect back-end services.
• Understanding of Apple design principles and interface guidelines.
• Familiarity with push notifications & app extensions management.
• Familiarity with Agile Development
• Eager to learn new technologies
• Familiarity with Reactive Programming
• Experience with XMPP, WebRTC, or a messaging app development
• Experience working with Firebase
• Experience with encryption algorithms
• Experience with media operation

Responsibilities

• Develop iOS applications using Swift and Cocoa Touch.
• Integrate RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Implement push notifications and app extensions as needed.
• Ensure clean, testable, and maintainable code.
• Optimize performance, threading, and offline storage.
• Collaborate in Agile teams and participate in code reviews.
