Qualifications

We are assisting our client in hiring Senior iOS Engineers to join our engineering team to support an ambitious product roadmap and expand core mobile capacity. As a Senior iOS Engineer, you will build, scale, and modernise our native iOS application. You will work alongside a team of 9+ iOS engineers within cross-functional squads to deliver feature parity, maintain high-throughput mobile architecture, and enhance customer experience at scale.

We are seeking Senior Engineers only—engineers who possess strong engineering fundamentals, pick up new systems and codebases rapidly, work autonomously, and actively mentor team members.

Employment Type: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract to Perm position

Key Responsibilities

• Architecture & Development: Design, build, and maintain high-performance native iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI.
• System Modernisation: Modernise existing codebases, manage dependencies via Swift Package Manager (SPM), and optimize mobile architecture.
• Location Services Integration: Implement robust map capabilities using Google Maps SDK (placing pins, querying coordinates, and working with Google Places API).
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Implement comprehensive unit testing (XCTest / Swift Tests) and ensure UI components handle dynamic light and dark modes smoothly.
• Release & Automation: Maintain and enhance deployment pipelines using Fastlane and modern CI/CD tools (Bitrise, Azure DevOps, CircleCI).
• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Drive best practices, contribute to code reviews, share technical knowledge, and mentor intermediate engineers.

Required Technical Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 5 to 8+ years of dedicated native iOS development experience. (Candidates whose recent experience is predominantly React Native or Flutter will not be considered).
• Core Languages & Frameworks: Native Swift, SwiftUI, and RESTful APIs (JSON).
• Concurrency: Strong understanding of modern Swift Concurrency (async/await).
• Architecture: In-depth knowledge of VIPER or MVVM + Coordinator (MVVM-C) architecture patterns.
• Location Services: Practical experience with Google Maps SDK (Google Places API, geocoding, dynamic pin placement).
• Tooling & Build Systems: Swift Package Manager (SPM), Fastlane, and Git.
• Testing & Security: Hands-on experience with XCTest/Swift Tests and secure data handling via iOS Keychain.
• CI/CD: Automation experience with platforms like Bitrise, Azure DevOps, or CircleCI.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Firebase, Braze, CocoaPods, or Android experience.
• Experience with UI/UX collaboration tools (Figma, Miro).
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude).
