Job summary

A leading financial service organization in South Africa seeks a Client Relationship Manager. The role involves client visits and virtual interactions, managing client accounts, and growing business relationships. Candidates should have a relevant tertiary qualification, preferably with 6-8 years of experience in the asset management or related industries. A CFP designation and strong presentation skills are advantageous.

Job description
  • Client visits and virtual interactions including presentations to groups of clients and broker networks sometimes accompanied by an investment portfolio manager – servicing a client base situated in Pretoria as well as outlying areas within Gauteng
  • Preparation of regular communication to clients including reporting and explanation of performance.
  • Growing assets from existing clients and identifying new avenues for business for Our Client.
  • Communication and management of client accounts – starting with a client base of varying sizes and growing over time.
  • Pro-actively analyze client’s business to determine suitability of Our Client's products for their requirements.
  • Keep abreast of industry and competitor trends as well as investment markets so as to be able to engage clients on current topics.
  • Maintain and constantly update client database through effective use of MIS system.
  • Related tertiary qualification(s) - commerce or legal qualification essential.
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) an advantage – required if candidate is appointed.
  • Strong presentation skills – ability to present to IFA’s as well as end investors.
  • Be able to build and manage business relationships with clients.
  • Ability to network effectively.
  • Ability to service Afrikaans speaking IFA’s and clients.
Ideal experience
  • Minimum 6-8 years of work experience ideally within the asset management, IFA, insurance or linked product markets, but all related experience will be considered.
Systems knowledge
  • MSOffice.
  • Virtual communications platforms (MSTeams and Zoom an advantage).
  • Client databases experience an advantage.

  • Sales oriented – must demonstrate a desire and ability to sell.
