Role Overview

Wealth Associates Asset Management (WAAM) is seeking a results-driven Investment Specialist to promote our discretionary fund management (DFM) solutions and support financial advisors.

This role focuses on delivering expert investment guidance, managing DFM provider relationships, and driving business growth through increased assets under management (AUM) and solution adoption, while ensuring regulatory compliance and improved client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote and support WAAM's DFM solutions to both internal and external financial advisors.
  • Provide expert investment guidance, assist with client portfolio construction, and advise on solutions suited to clients' risk profiles.
  • Monitor and analyse portfolio performance, recommending adjustments as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with financial advisors, independent advisors (IFAs), and institutional investors.
  • Manage relationships with DFM providers, conduct due diligence, and ensure alignment with WAAM's investment strategies.
  • Support the Managing Director in developing and executing WAAM's distribution strategy to grow AUM.
  • Identify new business opportunities and challenges in the advisor distribution landscape.
  • Conduct client meetings, presentations, and performance reviews, sharing insights.
  • Contribute to marketing content and collateral development for advisors and clients.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for advisors on DFM solutions.
  • Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments relevant to investment strategies.
  • Assist with internal and client-facing regulatory reporting, contributing to board-level reporting.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • CFA Level I required (full CFA designation will be a strong advantage).
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in investments, asset management, wealth management, or financial advisory.
  • Experience with DFM, multi-manager investments, or portfolio construction is a plus.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and analytical skills.
  • Strong knowledge of financial markets, asset allocation, and portfolio management.
  • Familiarity with fund research tools, performance analytics, and risk management software.
