The purpose of this position is to provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to gain exposure to a leading Corporate Finance franchise as part of a leading international bank. The experience will encompass both advisory and capital markets work (debt and equity).

Your key responsibilities
- Front‑office, client‑centric role
- Work on a variety of complex projects for leading local, pan‑African and global clients
- Contribute to the development of new ideas to help clients meet strategic and financial objectives
- Apply analytical skills and problem‑solving in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
- Project‑manage and participate in the execution of live transactions and pitches
- Attend team discussions and client meetings and deliver portions of presentations
- Perform tasks such as evaluating companies, financial analysis, model development for M&A and capital markets, preparing industry analyses, conducting research, and supporting live deals
- Learn from experienced colleagues locally and offshore, evolving professionally and personally
- Interact with various sector and product teams across the bank, both onshore and offshore
- Support senior bankers in origination and coverage efforts
- Provide accurate calculations and analysis
- Draft documentation, discussion materials and pitchbooks
- Maintain compliance and FAIS license requirements
- Support the team with administrative tasks and franchise‑building activities
- Engage in regional networking and talent development offerings
Your skills and experience
- Minimum 12–24 months prior experience in corporate finance
- Track record of M&A, advisory or capital markets experience (e.g., university societies, vacation projects, internships)
- Strong technical skills: financial modelling, financial analysis, and valuation methodologies
- Practical, dedicated individual with excellent analytical and communication skills (written and verbal) and fluency in English
- Proficiency with financial analytics software and Microsoft Office suite
- Commercial instinct, passion for finance and capital markets, and affinity for numbers
- Results‑driven, able to perform well under pressure and tight deadlines
- Strong academic record (bright mind)
- Team player who can manage a wide range of responsibilities and contribute to franchise success
- Committed to excellence and high professional and ethical standards
- Postgraduate degree required (minimum Honours level)
- Academic focus on business or natural sciences, particularly finance, accounting, investment management, business administration, economics, mathematics, or engineering
