Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an ambitious Investment Banking Analyst to join our Mossel Bay team, focusing on mergers, acquisitions, capital raises, and advisory services. The role offers exposure to a wide range of transactions and the chance to work closely with senior bankers in a dynamic Western Cape environment.

You will perform financial modeling, prepare client presentations, assist in due diligence, and support deal execution while developing critical analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related quantitative field from a reputable institution.
• 1–3 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, or related analytical role.
• Strong proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with the South African financial markets and Mossel Bay business landscape.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial modeling, valuation analysis, and market research to support transaction execution.
• Prepare client presentations, pitch books, and other deal-related materials.
• Assist in the due diligence process for mergers, acquisitions, and capital markets transactions.
• Support senior bankers in client relationship management and business development activities.
• Monitor industry trends and identify potential investment opportunities.
• Manage data collection and analysis for various financial advisory projects.
