Our client, a leading asset management firm, is seeking an Investment Associate to join their Multi-Management : Private Markets team.

This exciting opportunity offers the chance to work with some of South Africa's largest institutional funds, contributing to impactful investments across key sectors of the economy. The successful candidate will support the Head of Multi-Management : Private Markets in delivering strategic leadership and executing fund investment initiatives.

This role is ideal for an ambitious, analytical thinker who thrives in a fast-paced investment environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in sourcing, screening, and evaluating investment opportunities.
  • Conduct desktop analyses, due diligence, and transaction appraisals.
  • Support transaction leads in structuring, pricing, and negotiating deals.
  • Prepare investment proposals and appraisal reports for submission.
  • Monitor fund portfolios, including performance analysis, risk management, and compliance.
  • Review quarterly fund reports and valuations.
  • Participate in exit processes and portfolio handovers to relevant divisions.
Requirements
  • Honours degree in Finance, Investment Management, Financial Management, Accounting, Business, or related field (Master's degree advantageous).
  • 4–6 years' experience in investment management, private equity, fund of funds, or multi-manager environments.
  • Solid understanding of the private equity industry and market trends.
  • FAIS RE5 Certificate (or ability to obtain within six months).
  • Strong financial modelling, analytical, and research skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and report-writing abilities.
  • Commercial awareness, problem-solving ability, and sound judgement.
