Job summary

A leading consumer goods company in Cape Town seeks an Inventory Team Leader to coordinate logistics and maintain inventory accuracy. The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in logistics, experience in a fast-paced FMCG environment, and be proficient in SAP and Excel. Qualifications

Job Description

In this role, you will :

This position is responsible for Epping logistics inventory, to co-ordinate & control materials issuing / returns activities within the Cape Town Mill. To support Operations by providing an accurate material movement recording system, assist with rebate management and maintain a cost effective, safe and well controlled operation.

Main responsibilities :
  • The management of the teams and activities in the logistics inventory team.
  • Ensure safe and environmentally sound working conditions in logistics
  • Maintain effective, accurate and measurable documented processes, to ensure conformance to CFI’s / ETQ and business controls
  • Responsible for Daily Call offs.
  • Ensure that the logistics teams are trained and developed to meet current and future demands.
  • Ensure fair and just application of the Disciplinary / Grievance procedures
  • Assist in Coordinating Cycle counts and ensure compliance to Cycle count procedures for RM / FM / TRIP / NCR / BLOCK / ENG STORES
  • Assist in Investigating count variances and identify the root cause for inaccuracy. Implement corrective action to prevent re-occurrence
  • Assist in ensuring accurate inventory records ensuring counts are performed as per rules and an inventory accuracy of 98%+ is maintained in RM / ENG STORES and 100% in FG’s.
  • Assist in ensuring sound management of the rebate store as per SARS rules and regulations and ensure that the Rebate register is up to date
  • Ensure safety, internal controls, QMS team, development, CAPA, LSW and 5S programmes are maintained properly
  • Assist in ensuring that the 3PL properly maintains all logistics equipment and facilities
  • Ensure requisitions for service Purchase Orders are done and related PO management for Logistics department is done monthly
  • Coordinate investigation and resolving of purchase order queries

To succeed in this role, you will need the following requirements :
  • 3 Year tertiary logistics qualification / ASCM accredited.
  • 5 years’ experience in a FMCG environment with excellent communication skills
  • Computer literate : SAP, Microsoft Excel / Outlook / Word / Powerpoint
  • LSS Yellow Belt certified.
  • In depth knowledge of warehousing and receiving operations and business systems (eg. WMS, SAP R / 3)
