A leading healthcare provider in Gauteng is seeking an Inventory Manager to coordinate pharmacy services ensuring compliance and quality. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Inventory Management or Supply Chain Management and relevant experience in pharmacy. Responsibilities include managing inventory incidents, achieving financial objectives, and leading staff development initiatives. This role promotes a culture of ethical behavior and organizational excellence.
A vacancy exists for an Inventory Manager based at Life Fourways Hospital, reporting to Lorisha Sewdass, Pharmacy Manager.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating the Pharmacy services within the hospital environment by ensuring that quality pharmaceutical services, financial objectives, legislative compliance and people management requirements are achieved to the required standards.
Report % of inventory incidents and develop and implement remedial actions as appropriate.
Complete trends analysis with relevant actions quarterly together with Pharmacy Manager.
Report % of pharmacy alerts and develop and implement remedial action and complete a trends analysis quarterly.
Participate in the implementation and compliance to LHC Quality management systems.
Ensure compliance with SAPC, DOH and LHC legal and professional standards.
Achieve required customer service levels in theatre and wards.
Implement customer satisfaction and pharmacy quality initiatives.
Participate in achieving hospital budgeted financial measures relating to pharmacy.
Unrecorded liabilities management
Effective financial management by ensuring the procure to pay process relating to stock is aligned to company best practice.
GRIR feedback.
Updating of codes on preference cards ensuring accurate billing together with Nursing team
Available every month end i.e. last working day of the month to ensure all processes complete
Oversight on all pharmacy reports on Gateway, management of dead stock, non-recoverables, open orders, discontinued codes etc. and ability to provide actions plans to achieve targets
Provide feedback to key stakeholders regarding performance and implement actions to bring them in line with budgets.
Participate in the active management of cost of sales of pharmaceuticals in line with revenue and budget.
Build effective working relationships with doctors.
Regular engagements with other hospitals to understand what cost effective options they are using.
Be part of working groups between the hospitals to discuss these aspects.
Regular cyclical counts and monthly stock takes in the plant and Renal
Consignment stock management, alignment with Annexure, vendor valuation and SAP.
Overseeing Regular consignment stock counts by reps monthly
Driving Best cost formulary conversions, and reducing non-formulary purchases
Reviewing VBC dashboard, Procurement Dashboard, Qerent and DRG dashboard, aligning stock with appropriate utilization
Regular updates of codes in the plant when changes occur
Participate in achieving stock targets.
Achieve optimal system utilisation.
Recruit, retain, motivate and develop staff according to LHC people policies and practices.
Provide direction and inspire positive work behaviour in team.
Effective communication with all key stakeholders to ensure that everyone is aligned
Degree or diploma in Inventory Management NQF 6 or higher / BCom Degree in Supply Chain Management
Experience within inventory management or relevant experience within a pharmacy environment
Knowledge of inventory control processes, procedures and practices
Understanding of management and relationship structures within an operating environment People management experience
