Inventory Controller – Goods Receiving
Dragonfly Aerospace is looking for an Inventory Controller to join our team.
They will be based at our Stellenbosch office, located outside Cape Town.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in receiving, inspecting, and recording incoming materials and equipment.
- Issue inventory accurately to departments or project teams as per approved requests.
- Perform routine stock counts and support cycle counting and year‑end inventory activities.
- Ensure ERP system inventory records are accurate and up to date.
- Label, store, and organise materials according to procedures and storage requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and safety standards in the stores area.
- Report stock variances, damages, or discrepancies to the Inventory and Stores Coordinator.
- Assist in managing minimum stock levels and identifying restocking requirements.
- Capture and maintain accurate records of all material movements and transactions.
- Ensure supporting documentation (delivery notes, material requisitions, etc.) is correctly filed.
- Support audits and reviews by providing inventory documentation and reports.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Production, and Engineering to ensure timely material availability.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to improve efficiency in inventory and stores.
- Assist in preparing material kits for production builds and project deliveries.
Competencies and Skills
- Basic understanding of inventory control and warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with ERP systems or stock management software.
- Knowledge of receiving, issuing, and storage procedures.
- Ability to interpret part numbers, technical documentation, and delivery notes.
- Basic understanding of health, safety, and housekeeping practices in a warehouse environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and record‑keeping skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong sense of accountability and reliability.

Education and Qualifications
- 2–15 years of relevant experience (preferably in a technical or manufacturing environment).
- Matric (required).
- National Diploma or higher in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (advantageous).
- Proficiency in English; Afrikaans comprehension is beneficial.
