About the Role

Lensing is seeking an experienced accounting professional with deep international accounting experience who is interested in transitioning into a product management role building a modern financial system. We believe that knowledgeable domain experts are best suited to define requirements and build solutions that not only address the everyday needs of the users of a financial system but positively impact the quality of their work.

Internationalization is the biggest push across our product suite. Our customers run multi‑entity, multi‑currency, multi‑jurisdiction businesses, and they expect Lensing to handle local accounting, statutory reporting and tax requirements natively wherever they operate. You will bring first‑hand knowledge of how accounting and compliance actually work across multiple countries, and use that knowledge to make Lensing work for a global customer base.

The core responsibility of a Product Manager (PM) is to translate complex requirements into feature definitions and models that the development team can implement in the ERP product. You will leverage your accounting knowledge to effectively explain feature requirements to developers, ensuring seamless integration and functionality. This role is ideal for someone who is a builder, thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys working with technology, and is passionate about delivering software products that users find intuitive and efficient. You should be comfortable in a fast‑paced environment, able to work at both a technical and strategic level, and maintain a strong focus on outcomes. As a PM, you will play a significant role in shaping the roadmap and guiding the product from concept to execution.

This role will support the Record to Report and Procure to Pay teams and will report to the Director of Product Management. It will work closely with the accounting and product teams in Germany, the UK and the US to ensure consistent international coverage across the platform. Prior product management experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Own international accounting requirements: define how Lensing should handle local GAAP, statutory reporting, indirect tax (VAT/GST), withholding tax, e‑invoicing and other country‑specific requirements across the markets our customers operate in, and prioritise which countries and capabilities come first.


• Define market and customer needs: analyse and interpret customer requirements to determine necessary system functionality, such as localisation rules, integration capabilities, data flows and automation requirements.


• Shape the multi‑entity and intercompany model: specify how intercompany transactions, eliminations, transfer pricing postings, currency translation and consolidations should behave across entities in different jurisdictions.


• Influence the roadmap: help define and prioritise the product roadmap for internationalization based on user needs, regulatory change, industry trends and business strategy.


• Collaborate on feature development: work closely with design and engineering to conceptualise, prototype and implement features that align with the broader ERP solution; act as the accounting subject‑matter expert in the room.


• Guide feature implementation: ensure that features adhere to accounting best practice, relevant standards and the overall technical architecture.


• Support testing and QA: collaborate with QA to ensure comprehensive test coverage for all related functionality, including country‑specific scenarios, from acceptance to regression testing.


• Assist with documentation: help create clear, user‑friendly documentation for new features so that internal and customer‑facing stakeholders understand how localized functionality works.


• Communicate business value: articulate the value of international capabilities to executive management, sales teams and customers, emphasising how they enable expansion and reduce compliance risk.


• Stay informed on market and regulatory trends: track changes in accounting standards, tax rules and reporting mandates across key markets, and ensure the product remains competitive and compliant.

Required Skills & Experience

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, with a minimum of 7–10 years of experience in corporate accounting or finance, spanning both public and private companies at the mid‑market or enterprise level. A professional qualification (e.g. CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA or CPA) is strongly preferred.


• Deep international accounting experience: hands‑on responsibility for accounting, reporting or compliance across multiple countries, ideally in a group with entities in several jurisdictions. Exposure beyond the DACH region to other large economies (for example India, other Asian markets, the Middle East or Africa) is highly valued.


• Strong proficiency in IFRS, together with working knowledge of at least one other national GAAP and how it differs from IFRS in practice.


• Proven expertise in intercompany and multi‑entity accounting: intercompany transactions and reconciliations, eliminations, consolidations, foreign currency translation, localisation and cost accounting.


• Practical understanding of country‑specific statutory requirements, such as local chart‑of‑accounts mandates, indirect tax regimes (VAT/GST), withholding tax, e‑invoicing and statutory filing formats.


• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical requirements into clear, actionable instructions for engineering, design and QA.


• Self‑motivated and outcome‑focused, able to work independently across a globally distributed team and across time zones, while collaborating cross‑functionally; comfortable navigating fast‑paced environments and shifting priorities.

Nice‑to‑Have (Preferred, Not Required)

• Knowledge of HGB and/or US GAAP is a significant added bonus; familiarity with UK GAAP, Ind AS or other national standards is also welcome.


• Experience implementing, configuring or operating a multi‑entity ERP or consolidation system (e.g. SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Workday, Microsoft Dynamics).


• Experience with cloud‑based software or SaaS platforms.


• Knowledge of ERP modules and system integrations.


• Practical familiarity with AI tools (LLMs, AI‑assisted coding, automation platforms) and how to apply them in a finance or product context.


• Master’s degree in Business Administration.


• Additional languages, in particular German.
