Overview

Role: Intermediate QA Tester (Manual + Automation)

Location: Remote

Engagement: Permanent role OR contract

Start: Immediate (flexible for right candidate)

Salary: R30K - R45K per month

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, & document manual test cases across web apps (front/backend event management).
• Build and maintain lightweight automated tests to accelerate regression coverage over time.
• Work with product managers, developers, sales, & support to ensure quality across release lifecycle.
• Report defects clearly and confidently, with actionable detail and stakeholder awareness.
• Contribute to shaping the QA strategy, balancing risk and coverage in a fast-moving startup context.

Qualifications

• 2 - 3 years of QA experience, with exposure to both manual and automated testing.
• Ability to confidently handle both UI testing and backend/API/database testing.
• Familiarity with automation frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, Robot, or similar).
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and testing in agile sprint cycles.
• Excellent communication skills: can write crisp bug reports and explain issues to non-technical stakeholders.
• Self-driven, curious, and adaptable, thrives in a small business where things move quickly.
• Some exposure to Salesforce or other CRM systems.
• Experience in ticketing, booking, or event management platforms.
• Prior experience in a startup or small team.
