Job summary

Rectron is seeking an Intermediate .NET Developer to join the IT team in Midrand. You will develop, maintain, and optimize business-critical applications using C#, .NET, and ASP.NET Core, while designing REST APIs and backend services.

The role requires strong SQL Server skills, Azure experience, and the ability to work across backend services, databases, and cloud-hosted solutions. Collaboration with internal teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ experience in software development.
• Strong C# and .NET / .NET Core development experience.
• Experience with ASP.NET Core MVC and/or Web API.
• Solid SQL Server experience, including queries, joins, indexing, stored procedures, and performance troubleshooting.
• Experience working with Azure services such as App Services, Azure SQL, Blob Storage, Key Vault, Application Insights, or Azure Functions.
• Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, authentication, and integration patterns.
• Familiarity with Git and source control workflows.
• Good debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently while still collaborating well in a team.

The purpose of this job is to assist with building, maintaining, and improving business-critical applications. The ideal candidate has strong experience with .NET, SQL Server, and Azure, and is comfortable working across backend services, APIs, databases, and cloud-hosted solutions. To help build and support scalable business applications. The role involves backend development, API integration, database work, cloud deployment, troubleshooting, and collaboration with internal teams.

• Experience working with Azure AI services, Azure OpenAI, OpenAI APIs, vector databases, embeddings, or retrieval-augmented generation.
• Experience with Entity Framework Core.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
• Exposure to frontend technologies such as JavaScript, Razor, or Blazor.
• Experience with background jobs, caching, queues, or event-driven architecture.
• Knowledge of security best practices, identity, OAuth, or role-based access.
• Experience in ecommerce, ERP, CRM, or business systems would be beneficial
