Our client, a prestigious financial sector institution, is seeking a Senior Integration Specialist to join its Enterprise Integration Centre of Excellence (EICoE).

This role will focus on mission-critical Tier 1 initiatives, including the FMD Reference Rate Reform and Foreign Exchange (FX) projects, demanding advanced expertise in IBM ACE, API Connect, MQ, and streaming technologies like Apache Kafka.

POSITION INFO : Requirements

  • Diploma in Information Systems, Business Administration, or equivalent experience; IIB or MQ certification advantageous;
  • A minimum of five years' experience in Integration development environment using the IBM ACE, DataPower, API Connect, MQ;
  • Proficiency in at least one other integration toolset (ACE, API Connect, MQ, Data Power, Oracle SOA) advantageous;
  • Kafka or Confluent certifications advantageous;
  • Extensive experience in design, analysis and development of integration flows (including error and audit) between variety of applications;
  • Must be proficient in SOAPUI, Postman, ACE toolkit for development, MQ explorer, RFHUtil;
  • Proficient in following runtime tools: Atlassian Bitbucket, Atlassian Bamboo, Jira and Confluence;
  • Skills in Integration Protocol such as RESTful API, Webservice, MQ and File (MQMFT, FTPS, SFTP);
  • Proficient in Data Types: Transformation (JSON / SWAGGER, XML / XSD / WSDL / XSLT, CSV / Excel, Fixed Length, Binary) and No Transformation (Binary);
  • Dimensional data modelling experience;
  • Project development exposure (waterfall and/or agile methodologies);
  • Hands-on experience with streaming technologies (Apache Kafka, Confluent, AWS Kinesis, Azure Event Hubs, Pub/Sub);
  • Experience integrating real-time streaming data into applications or data platforms;
  • Knowledge of event-driven architectures and microservices;
  • Clear communication skills, especially in explaining technical designs to non-technical stakeholders;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with data engineers, architects, and business analysts;

Key Deliverables

  • Participate in the interpretation of business requirements and functional specifications as provided by the business analyst into Integration solution designs to implement all Integration flows (technical specifications, detail designs etc);
  • Development of the integration flow function using appropriate technology toolsets to pass data through integration according to approved design specifications;
  • Design and development of the monitoring and error handling procedures;
  • Application of appropriate Data Quality tools and techniques to ensure that consistent and quality data is provided to the data warehouse;
  • Assist with the high-level designs in preparation for governance approval;
  • Prepare key documentation to support the technical design in technical specifications (System Design / Requirement Specification, Source specification and test documentation);
  • Assist in establishing accurate project timelines and development methodology;
  • Be able to take high-level tasks and break them into detailed actions and tasks to be completed;
  • Provide input to the overall project planning process by assisting in establishing accurate project timelines actions required and realistic timeframes for completion of those tasks and actions;
  • Participate in workshops with stakeholders in respect of clarification of detailed requirements and solutions to those requirements;
  • Deliver allocated project tasks and actions according to agreed quality and timeframes;
  • Author and execute unit tests on all processes and prepare required programs and scripts;
  • Ensure that detailed tasks and actions are allocated and completed to limit and mitigate risk within the allocated projects;
  • Staying abreast of changes to integration tools and methodologies & the ability to learn and implement new and different techniques.
