A leading production company in South Africa is looking for a Mid-Weight Producer to manage the production process from storyboard to final deliverables. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience in a creative agency and will be responsible for client communication, team mentorship, and budget management. This role requires both creative collaboration and project management skills, offering a unique opportunity to work across multiple media formats.
The Production department specializes in all forms of storytelling from moving imagery and content, to animations and graphics, to Gen AI, to audio, musical, and sonic led narratives.

The Mid-Weight Producer represents the day-to-day project expectations of the Production Department at its highest standards.
The role is client-facing and manages the entire production process from storyboard to final deliverables, ensuring consistent financial and creative well-being.
The producer works with senior leadership, establishes roles and expectations, and ensures efficient communication across all internal and external channels.
Work alongside the Creative department to establish a creative point of view and push to improve creative output through execution and craft.
Maintain an understanding of the production process, including knowledge of the single and competitive bidding process, production calendar planning, legal and ethical risk, billing, meeting arrangements, confidentiality, and indemnification.
Proactively oversee day-to-day project communications and report to Production Lead.
Own internal team and production partner's time-management needs (meeting scheduling, conference / video calls, expectations, etc.).
Provide internal client and agency production expertise, including production travel planning, expense management, and client material resourcing, while keeping up to date with industry best practices.
Effectively set and manage internal and external production, budget, and timing expectations with teams and clients, providing clear realities, solutions, and opportunities throughout the process.
Guide and mentor junior members of the team, celebrating successes while delivering precise and timely feedback.
Work closely with the Studio Manager and Production Lead to oversee quality control and closeout of projects in a thorough, consistent, and timely manner.
Forge strong relationships with internal and external teams to create sustainable, scalable, and long-lasting standards and processes.
Always lend a positive hand and lead by example, recognizing that team and agency look to you for proactive and productive solutions.
Be client-facing and act as the key voice for production and the intersection between agency teams.
Collaborate and share production knowledge across the department and within the agency.
Adhere to established administrative systems and agency best practices.
Partner directly with creatives as a creative confidant and advocate.
Keep up to date with industry best practices.
4+ years of experience as a producer in an agency or equivalent film production environment.
Previous experience working within a creative agency or equivalent industry experience in the creative field across all media—including digital, social, film, long-form content, and print.
