Placements24 is seeking an experienced Insurance Underwriter specializing in Commercial Lines for our client based in Tembisa. The role focuses on assessing risks, underwriting new business and renewals, and collaborating with brokers and agents to tailor insurance solutions.

The ideal candidate has at least 4 years in commercial underwriting, with a strong grasp of liability, property and specialty lines, plus excellent analytical and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in insurance underwriting with a focus on Commercial Lines.
• Thorough understanding of commercial insurance products, including liability, property and specialty lines.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with ability to interpret financial statements and risk assessments.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and evaluate commercial insurance applications, assessing risks and determining appropriate terms, conditions and pricing.
• Underwrite new business and renewals for a diverse portfolio of commercial clients, ensuring profitability and adherence to underwriting guidelines.
