Overview

We're looking for a Portfolio Manager to join our dynamic team in a key role focused on driving profitability, growth and retention.

What You'll Do
  • Manage and grow portfolios with key insurers.
  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with insurer partners and stakeholders.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, analyse trends, and implement targeted action plans to drive profitability.
  • Prepare and manage financial and management reports, ensuring accurate data for decision-making.
  • Oversee underwriting policies and claims processes in collaboration with insurer partners.
  • Ensure smooth monthly operations — including reconciliations, payments, and reporting cycles.
  • Support and develop the service advisor team, fostering a culture of motivation, accountability, and service excellence.
  • Participate in planning meetings, strategic meetings, and product improvement initiatives.
  • Identify operational gaps and work with internal systems to improve efficiency.
  • Mentor claims and underwriting consultants.
What You Bring
  • 5+ years' experience in short-term insurance portfolio or account management.
  • Higher Certificate in Short-term Insurance (NQF 5).
  • Strong analytical, financial, and reporting skills.
  • Excellent relationship‑building and negotiation ability.
  • Proven communication skills in Afrikaans and English.
  • Knowledge in insurance systems.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Business, or Insurance (advantageous).
  • FAIS‑compliant and RE5 certified.
