Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage daily engineering maintenance activities to ensure safe and reliable plant operations.
  • Champion adherence to all safety and legal requirements, including the OHS Act, for plant machinery, maintenance projects, and contractor activities.
  • Implement and drive continuous improvement initiatives and cost‑saving projects, optimizing the utilization of materials, spares, and services.
  • Shape and execute the maintenance strategy, objectives, and tactics in alignment with business needs, leveraging available resources (people, budget, equipment, spares, and systems).
  • Provide expert technical support and mentorship to team members on discipline‑specific infrastructure, equipment, and standards.
  • Conduct thorough root cause failure analysis on critical equipment and systems, identifying, recommending, and implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Manage and lead the risk assessment process, ensuring team members are proficient in work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Foster the professional growth and development of staff through performance reviews and training needs identification.
  • Ensure optimal plant and equipment performance and reliability by coordinating the activities of the maintenance team and contractors, utilizing SAP PM System.
Requirements
  • Matric N6 Instrumentation Qualification
  • 5 Years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 3‑5 Years of experience in a management level role
  • Proven knowledge of preventive & proactive maintenance techniques and their application
  • Solid understanding of relevant legislation, including the OHS Act
  • Proficiency in instrumentation systems, PLCs, and drives
  • Knowledge of supply chain & spares management
