Job summary

MyCareerCraft is recruiting an experienced Injection Moulding Technician for a permanent position in Port Elizabeth. You will set up moulding machines, optimise processes, and support production output to meet quality and delivery targets in a fast-paced plastics environment.

The role requires a certificate in injection moulding, 3+ years setting machines, and the ability to work shifts with OT. You will monitor quality, troubleshoot, and drive improvements across shifts.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Injection Moulding Machine Setting (NQF L4 or similar)
• Minimum 3 years experience setting injection moulding machines
• Experience in plastics manufacturing environment
• Exposure to process optimisation and production troubleshooting
• Experience supervising or guiding production staff on shift
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime when required

Responsibilities

• Set and optimise injection moulding machines and related equipment
• Ensure production runs efficiently according to schedules and targets
• Monitor product quality and take corrective action where required
• Reduce scrap and improve cycle times through process improvements
• Supervise operators during shifts and provide technical support
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards
• Maintain production documentation such as setting sheets and work instructions
• Assist with troubleshooting production and machine issues
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the department
• Maintain good housekeeping and safe working practices
• Provide support across shifts when required, including overtime
