This is a contracting position at our client. Please attach resume. About the Role: Join our telco client as a Specialist: Infrastructure Architect / Specialist.

In this key role, you will support our technical teams to architect, build, and deploy robust infrastructure and cloud solutions across public, private, and hybrid environments.

You will be responsible for the end‑to‑end design, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our client's infrastructure, cloud services, network, and security.

Responsibilities

• Architect & Design – Oversee infrastructure and cloud designs, developing detailed architecture models for test, development, and production environments.
• Technical Blueprints – Develop comprehensive technical designs covering Network (datacentre, WAN, security, compute, storage & backup), Microsoft services (AD, SCCM, SCOM, Mail, etc.), virtualization (VMs, containers, serverless, automation), and cloud strategy (plan and document technical designs for system and application migrations to the cloud, ensuring alignment with business requirements).
• Optimization & Integration – Optimize the cost of cloud solutions by identifying waste and automating cost management.
• Integration – Integrate non‑cloud technologies and third‑party vendor services.
• Documentation & Process – Lead the creation of key technical artifacts (e.g., Detailed Technical Design, Security Architecture Plan) and develop support processes that adhere to ITIL best practices.
• Innovation – Assess emerging technologies, stay abreast of industry trends, and provide expert advice on technology investments.

Qualifications

• Education – A relevant 3‑year Computer Science, Information Management, Engineering, or Business Degree / Diploma (NQF level 6).
• Experience – Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in an IT Infrastructure Architect role.
• Knowledge – Solid understanding of architecture disciplines, processes, and best practices, combined with strong technical aptitude and resource planning capabilities.
• Special Requirements – Must have a valid driver's licence and be willing and able to travel and work after hours when required.
