Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role based in the City of Johannesburg, with the flexibility to work from home part of the time.

The Information Security Officer will be responsible for safeguarding the organization's digital infrastructure by developing and maintaining security policies, analysing security risks, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining security policies, analysing security risks, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Monitoring and responding to threats, educating stakeholders on security best practices, and collaborating across departments to protect sensitive data.
• Leading incident response efforts, managing vulnerability assessments, and staying current with emerging security challenges.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity practices, risk management, and information security standards (e.g., ISO, NIST).
• Proficiency in identifying, analysing, and mitigating security threats and vulnerabilities.
• Experience with incident response planning, security monitoring tools, and threat management systems.
• Skills in developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and awareness training programmes.
• Technical expertise in network security, data protection, and secure infrastructure design.
• Excellent communication skills to educate stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are highly advantageous.
