A telecommunications company in South Africa is looking for a Marketing Manager to develop and execute promotional plans, manage budgets, and lead teams. Applicants should have a Degree in Marketing and at least 4 years of experience in Channel Marketing. To provide unique communication solutions, below and above the line, in order to support sales and marketing endeavours to meet Cell C's sales targets.
Develop channel and region-specific promotional plans to drive targets and ensure implementation together with the Key Account Managers.
Develop agency and channel briefing templates to ensure synergy with brand positioning.
Localize media and advertising opportunities where possible.
Investigate new and different media and advertising opportunities.
Submit tear-sheets to handset manufacturers on a quarterly basis for processing recoveries.
Ensure agency compliance with company equity and BEE requirements.
Deploy consumer / shopper research to understand behaviour and market opportunities.
Develop the annual generic promotional calendar and ensure implementation.
Manage the timeous delivery of Channel & Regional Campaigns within budget and via the most efficient means.
Ensure ongoing evaluation of campaign performance (measuring conversion rates and campaign ROI) with the aim of continuously increasing campaign effectiveness.
Manage internal (Informal and Regional Teams) and external (agencies & suppliers) to ensure that they deliver effective and appropriate campaigns to achieve defined communication objectives and standards, within budget.
Ensure the campaign management team delivers comprehensive and timeous post campaign reports for all retail communication campaigns.
Motivate Informal & Regional teams to deliver against objectives.
Develop and nurture relationships with channel partners and Key Account Managers.
Manage the handset manufacturer promotional fund.
Manage Budget through planning, setting, monitoring and controlling the costs.
Manage cost tracking and variation reports.
Develop and implement procedures to achieve savings.
Make recommendations for budget-affecting change requests.
Practice budget cost saving practices.
Inform superiors timeously of potential over-spend.
Lead and motivate staff to effectively deliver objectives, ensuring development opportunities, appraisal and management systems are embedded and relevant HR procedures are adhered to.
Provide an advisory, support and mentorship function to enable staff to grow within their career.
Maintain a low staff turnover rate.
Initiate the appropriate Labour Relation action required within the department.
Establish, evaluate and guide the department's Employee Performance Management programme.
Set Key Performance Indicators targets and goals as per the department's strategy and business objectives.
Recruit employees; assign and direct work, oversee their development, identify training needs and maintain staff competence.
Uphold HR policies and procedures.
Apply and adhere to Cell C Health and Safety procedures and rules.
Degree or Diploma in Marketing.
4 years' experience in Channel Marketing.
Experience in Retail / Channel Advertising and Marketing will be an added advantage.
